Line-up Confirmed for ‘The Future of Gas Infrastructure in Ireland’ Conference

11th August, 2017:  The Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM) have confirmed the line-up for their flagship conference in Dublin this September.   Sponsored by Gas Networks Ireland, ‘The Road to 2050: The Future of Gas Infrastructure in Ireland’ conference, will take place on Wednesday, 13th September 2017 at the Grand Hotel in Malahide, County Dublin.  The must attend event will see leading industry players looking at the role gas will play in the future energy mix of Ireland, from now to 2050 and beyond. Among the many themes to be explored include the role low carbon gas will play in decarbonising the gas network; the practicalities of injecting low carbon gas into the national gas network and the effects of gas quality on the supply chain.

Julie McGrath, CNG Commercial Engineer, Gas Networks Ireland will present at the conference to outline the development of Ireland’s national CNG refuelling network and Ian Kilgallon, Innovation and Business Development Manager, Gas Networks Ireland will discuss the integration of biomethane into Ireland’s national gas grid. Maurice Power, Gas Network Ireland’s Senior Planning Engineer will also deliver a presentation to attendees on the ten year outlook for gas in Ireland.

Other speakers on the day will include Dr Ann McGarry, Director of Energy Safety, Commission for Energy Regulation, Lorna Millington, Design Manager, Cadent, Oliver Simpson, Vice-President Commercial, Excelerate Energy USA, Dan Sadler, Technical Advisor, Northern Gas Networks, Chris Clarke, Director of Asset Management and HS&E, Wales & West Utilities, Angus McIntosh, Innovation and New Technology Manager, SGN and Freddie Tilbrook, Project Lead, Energy Innovation Centre.
